Cogar is an Irish-language social platform, built to give our native language a real digital home — not a small add-on in the corner of a global app, but a living everyday space where Irish is the default.
It is shaped for conversation, community, creativity, and connection: a modern environment where Irish can be heard, seen, and used online as naturally as in a Gaeltacht pub or around the kitchen table.

This is not a small project on the margins of the internet.
It is an effort to create a proper digital space for Irish: one that is alive, welcoming, contemporary, and built with the community at the centre.
Too many online spaces leave little room for smaller languages and distinct communities. Cogar is being built to change that. There should be a place for: fluent speakers learners the diaspora the curious and anyone who wants to use Irish in life today On Cogar, Irish is not at the margins. It is at the heart of the experience.

Irish is not a “theme” here. It is not trim. And it is not something set aside for one special day or one-off event. Cogar is built on the understanding that Irish is a living, contemporary, social language — for conversation, friendship, news, music, communities, business, and everyday life.
People should have more control over what they see and how they use the platform. Cogar is being built with a focus on: a cleaner, more human experience healthier communities better tools for safety and moderation and more choice for you Social media does not have to be toxic or exhausting. It can be useful, friendly, and even fun again.
